This symposium is focused on the work surrounding the definition of product identifiers for derivatives. Panel discussions will provide an overview of the work from the ISIN Product Committee, the role of product identifiers for MiFID and CPMI-IOSCO developments on unique product identifiers (UPI).

Product Identifiers for Derivatives: A business and a regulatory view

A panel of experts will discuss product identifiers looking at various business and regulatory use cases. The panelists will provide their perspectives on the CPMI-IOSCO UPI requirements, general business requirements, governance requirements and their views on data access and identifier granularity.

Product Identifiers for MiFID II: ISIN product granularity and governance

The use of ISINs is a MiFID II requirement. A panel of experts will discuss the work within ISO and the work in the ANNA Derivatives Service Bureau (DSB) to date and expected next steps. The panel will cover the recent DSB consultations and the industry feedback in addition to the MiFID II requirements.

Product Identifiers and ToTV

Traded on a Trading Venue (ToTV) is a key concept in MiFID II. The panel will discuss the MiFID II ToTV requirements and how to identify ToTV instruments. In addition the panel will discuss the infrastructure requirements and current progress towards the January 1, 2018 start date.
