ISDA's Associate Membership category is designed for service providers (for example, brokers, law firms, accounting firms, consulting firms, exchanges and software providers) who are active in the privately negotiated derivatives business. Associate Membership provides a forum for these industry participants to stay abreast of and contribute to important developments and initiatives.
For the purpose of assessing dues, Associate Members fall into four sub-categories. Please note that the distinction is made solely for dues assessment and does not affect an Associate Member’s privileges.
The first sub-category is Associate Global. This sub-category is for institutions that are active across most or all financial centers around the world.
The second is Associate Broker Global. This sub-category is for brokerage firms active in major international financial centers.
The third is Associate Broker. This sub-category is for firms who serve strictly as brokers of derivatives transactions (and who are not dealers in or agents to such transactions, in which that case must under ISDA's by-laws be classified as Primary Members).
The fourth, Associate, is for all other industry service providers.
First-year dues for Associate Members are prorated to reflect the timing of their entry into the Association. The membership runs on the calendar year.
